Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is known for doing many films per year. He has been critised by the netizens and even many industry insiders suggested that his excessive exposure might be the issue. Many people think that the once most bankable actor, who is known for working on at least five films annually, should be more selective about whose screenplays he trusts and refrain from taking on too many projects at once.

Now, his Hera Pheri co-star Paresh Rawal has strongly disagrees. Paresh Rawal was questioned about the criticism over the same. Speaking to Siddarth Kanan he said, “Honestly, what is your problem if he does so many films? People go to him to make the films, right? As a producer, I would sign an actor only if I can account for the money I am investing.”

He further added, “Wo kaam karna pasand karta hai. Wo smuggling toh nahi karta hai, daaru supply toh nahi karta hai. Drugs to nahi karta hai, jua to nahi karta hai. Wo kaam karta hai to kitna employment generate hota hai, wo bhi dekhiye aap. He just likes to work. Where is the problem? (He isn’t smuggling, boot-legging, selling drugs, or gambling. He is just working as much as he possibly can. And more importantly, his films are also a source of employment for thousands.)”

Akshay and Paresh have delivered several iconic comedies together. They have worked together in films like Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, Bhaagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, OMG: Oh My God and Aitraaz.

Now, the duo will be seen in the highly-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 and two other projects.

On the work front, Akshay was last seen in Sky Force. He now has Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, Bhooth Bangla, Welcome to the Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat and The Bravery Legendary Untold Story of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in the pipeline. He is also set to appear in a cameo in Kannappa.
